For any food enthusiast visiting Tokyo, Ushigoro is an absolute must. This high-end yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) restaurant specializes in premium wagyu beef, delivering an exceptional dining experience. From the luxurious ambiance of a private dining room to the unparalleled flavors of expertly prepared dishes, Ushigoro is a culinary journey like no other.

As we walked in, our personal chef greeted us with two culinary stars: Matsutake mushrooms and a cut of the finest wagyu beef. Known for their earthy aroma and rarity, Matsutake mushrooms perfectly complement the richness of wagyu, setting the tone for a truly indulgent meal.

The Courses: A Symphony of Flavors

1. Beef and Softshell Turtle Consommé Soup

The meal began with a delicate consommé soup that was both light and flavorful—a perfect appetizer to awaken the senses.

2. Hand Roll Beef Sushi with Matsutake Mushroom

A unique blend of the umami-rich wagyu and the deep flavors of Matsutake created a roll that practically melted in the mouth.

3. Truffle and Mushroom Salad

This dish filled the room with the rich aroma of truffles. The refreshing crunch of mushrooms provided a balanced, indulgent start to our journey.

4. Smoked Beef Tartare with Caviar

The combination of smoky beef and briny caviar delivered layers of complex flavors—each bite more captivating than the last.

5. Thick-Cut Beef Tongue and Outside Skirt

Grilled to perfection, these cuts maintained a tender, juicy bite that showcased the chef’s skill and the quality of the meat.

6. Chuck Flap with Matsutake Mushroom - Sukiyaki Style

With a dramatic flourish, the chef seared this cut over open flames, creating a visually stunning and delicious experience.

7. Somen Noodles with Caviar

A light, delicate dish that cleansed the palate while maintaining the indulgence of the meal.

8. Chateaubriand Cutlet Sandwich with Truffle

Perhaps the highlight of the meal, this sandwich was cooked to perfection, its luxurious truffle notes leaving an unforgettable impression.

9. Steamed Egg Custard with Matsutake Mushroom Sauce

This delicate custard was both savory and rich, a testament to the harmonious balance of textures and flavors.

10. Selected Beef - Shabushabu Style

As a special surprise, the restaurant presented us with a stunning dessert for our anniversary—a truly memorable gesture.

Every dish at Ushigoro was meticulously crafted, showcasing the incredible flavors of wagyu and Matsutake mushrooms. The $499.86 price tag might seem steep, but for the exceptional quality and experience, it was worth every penny.
